2623D4U nice model and great price at $1150 after rebate

#1 Post by tselling » Tue Jun 13, 2006 4:52 pm

I purchased a 2623D4U for my husband from CostCentral for $1348.72 with free shipping and no sales tax. With the $200 rebate from Lenovo brings total down to just under $1150.

Its a nice model T60 with X1300 64mb video, 1.66Ghz Dual Core, 14" SXGA+ LCD, 512mb ram and 80gb 5400rpm HD (I bumped the ram up to 1gb with the free 512mb stick I got with my T60p). And it has a 3 year warranty. Doesn't have bluetooth but my husband won't miss it. My only complaint is it has the Intel Wifi card like my T60p has... so will have to replace with an Atheros card to get decent reception. No dead or stuck pixels though there is more light bleed at the bottom edge of the LCD than my T60p... but thats the luck of the draw for LCDs. Looks like it will play Oblivion but at substantially lower settings than my T60p.

If you're on a budget but want decent graphics the 2623D4U seems to be a great machine for the money.

nice.. i just got a 2623d6u. The t60's are great computers. I was going to go with the 2623d7u but couldn't justify the $500 charge and the wait time. I ordered with lenovo yesterday and my d6u shipped today. I don't mind that it doesn' t have a x1400 gpu or a v5200. I am going to get the next generation dx10 when it comes out because I had such trouble with a dell m1710 with a 7900gtx(512mb) but the 1920 x 1200 resolution wouldn't allow me to max out my settings in games. For the best laptop gpu out there, I expect it play all the newer games at max settings. The t60 will be my true laptop. I don't mind the x1300 as I will only play counterstrike and starcraft.

nice t60p btw...

I ordered online with free ground shipping. It took them a little over a day to process. They used Fedex Ground and it arrived within a few days of shipping. No complaints here.

I used Costcentral as well when I ordered my 2623D6U last month. They were absolutely drama free for me. My order went in, and 4 days later I had my laptop. The only disadvantage about using a reseller of course is there is a no return policy for most of the resellers including Costcentral. If you do end up with a laptop with issues, you'd need to deal with Lenovo. Ordering from Lenovo gives you a little more breathing room because you can always return something no questions asked within 30 days. I was extremely fortunate with my D6U order; not one bad pixel or other problem to be seen.

I ALSO got a 2623D6U from CostCentral. Took a couple days for the order to be fulfilled, but received it A-Ok with a manufacture date of 5/24! The only thing is they did NOT notify Lenovo of the sale date, so my warranty status showed it starting 5/24. I had to call EZServ to correct it. I guess it's just a case of price vs. service.
