Hi Baraider,

I got mine about a month ago with similar purchase date as you.

I bought my 2623D6U back in mid-June from CostCentral as well. I sent my coupon in June shortly thereafter. I received my 200 Dollars rebate check in mid-August -- check came from Austin, Texas. There is an 800 number listed on my Promotional Payment letter that came with it, it is 800-492-8595. Maybe you should give them a call.

My 20 Dollars rebate for my 1 G of Transcend (also bought in June but from NewEgg) came in September.

guYom,
Thanks for the number. I was worried that my check is lost since you got your rebate so long ago and i have not. I have not gotten time to call IBM to ask.

This morning, open mail box and there is a $200 check from lenovo. I'm happy :D

It's been posted elsewhere but I don't see it here in this post, but Lenovo's return policy has changed. They no longer offer ANYONE the option of returning a computer within 30 days, like they used to. The new policy, which has been linked to in other posts and can be fairly easily found on Lenovo's web site, allows for returns for full refund (you pay return shipping and shipping charges are not refunded) within 21 days, but only if the package has not been opened at all. The wording of the return policy is somewhat awkwardly stated but that's what it says. So when you buy a computer from Lenovo, you no longer have the option to try it out at all ; once you open it you cannot return it.

This makes Lenovo's policy the same as that of resellers ; all purchases are final. Other manufacturers have also changed their return policies ; Dell used to allow returns in 30 days, for over a year now it's 21 days; I think Apple takes returns in 15 days but with 15% restocking fee.

So if you're thinking of buying directly from Lenovo to be able to open and try out your new expensive computer, please be sure to read the new return policy !

Best return policy in my opinion...

My favorite place to deal with returns is Costco. They have a 6 month no questions asked return policy. 6 months is a lifetime for computer equipment.
They now stock a few Lenovo thinkpads as well but the pickings are very sparse.
I haven't returned much but I once had an Xbox 360 that died after about 4 months. I did not have my receipt nor did I even have the box. I did have the manuals and accessories. Costco didn't give me a hassle at all and refunded my purchase. I was just hoping for a credit but they gave me a full refund.

As for Lenovo, I know they have a pretty strict return policy but in my experience they are more flexible than their policy states. I can't say the same for other vendors who in my experiences have been very strict to the letter of their return policies.
