setting tpfancontrol for T60

O.k.
I have what I think is the latest tpfancontrol_v018b ... and have it in Bios mode ... but before I activate it ... a question: the default settings in the configuration are:
Level=47 0
Level=50 3
Level=55 4
Level=60 7
Level=70 128
a) is this good for the T60? and what have other people adjusted them to?
b) do I need to change these?:
IconLevels=50 55 60
IgnoreSensors=XXX,YYY,ZZZ
c) here are the temperatures after a whole day of nonestop use ... including graphic applications and it is a warm day in Berlin are these temperatures normal:
CPU 58°C (0x78)
APS 42°C (0x79)
PCM 40°C (0x7a)
GPU 78°C (0x7b)
BAT 32°C (0x7c)
BAT 31°C (0x7e)
BUS 44°C (0xc0)
PCI 52°C (0xc1)
PWR 50°C (0xc2)
Thanks in advance
Sorry to start a new line on this... transfer it you like ... but I looked around at all the discussions concerning the fan and temperature but this was not discussed ...

I've been playing around with it for quite a few months. I've never been able to figure it out. But what I do is put it on the max setting when I'm doing games on the thinkpad. Seems to keep it cool(er) that it would normally be.
Another thing I noticed is take out the optical drive if you are trying to keep it cool inside; seems to lower the HDD temp by a few degrees farenheit.

its not the HD that is the problem here but the GPU. I was hoping somebody would provide me with reliable data on what is too hot for GPU and what temperatures are okay.

Core (2) Duo, Radeon X1K and FireGL V5xx0 work fine until 100°C. It's written is the datasheets.

hmmm. my T60 will not fall below 68 and if the fan is kept off the GPU will just go up and up in temperature (and i am only surfing the net).
I am also aware that ATI can get pretty hot and still function. but i want to know which temperature is too high for 24:7 use. I am pretty sure that after 24 hours at 100, your GPU will be quite melted.

Sure it's not the best deal to run them at their max temp. When I start to mod my fan assembly, my target was to stay below 70°C for GPU (and CPU). 70~75°C is common for a lot ot T60(p) with the fan running during basic usage so it seems to be a god value for long time use.

I'd consider anything over 85 to be questionable, but as long as it's below 90, there shouldn't *technically* be anything to worry about, other than that nasty gut feeling that it's too hot.

this seems like a very reasonable/educated guess. can anyone however confirm this with some kind of official documentation? I always want to be on the safe side.

At 115°C or 117°C, Radeon and FireGL give up and system reboot. Someone with an heat issue post those values.

Pascal_TTH,
Don't you feel hot underneath your T60 just like T43, running with the temperature that you have posted.?

I can't compare with T43 becaus I did not have one. The base seems cooler then the T41p in the same use without the fan. I wear a short and it's not hot on my legs. It's just a little warm.
