Stuck pixel in just-received new T60 - what is the norm?

I just received a brand new custom built T60 from Lenovo.
On initial check, there is one (1) pixel that is stuck - always stays light greenish, and as such, not very noticebly, but remains permamnently visible in most colors.
Question:
Sholud I return and exchange the T60 and hope that the new one will be perfect, or 1 stuck pixel out of 1400x1200 is considered the "norm" and I should not expect a perfect LCD. I do lot's of image manipulation (still and video), so I would prefer not to see it all the time (and I paid ~$3000 for it).

correction, the LCD is:
14.1" SXGA+ (1400x1050)

Well, it is within "acceptable limits" as per the ISO 13406-2 standard; IBM has a page that lists what and how many dead/stuck pixels constitutes a manufacturing problem and what doesn't.

Practically? It depends on how you feel about it. Each person has a different tolerance for dead/stuck pixels and how many there are, what color, etc.
Either way, you have 30 days to make up your mind, so go for it. The chances of you getting another system with a dead pixel are somewhat lower.

So if I choose to return and hope for a pixel-perfect LCD, what I suppose to say when I ask them to send me exactly the same machine - why do I return it?

if it does not bother you, I would not suggest returning it. 1 stuck pixel or even a little more is very common. The chances are that you may receive one unit without any bad pixels, but you may receive a unit even more than 1 bad pixels.

I had six stuck pixels, attempted the depot route, and then eventually RMA'ed it last week. I called in this morning to find out the status, I've got a 100% brand new 2623DDU already earmarked for me, and the order will go through tomorrow or Wednesday. They even overnight the replacement; so it should be in my hands no later than Friday.
The best part? I get another 30 days to decide if I want to keep this one

True. But if I tell them to use the return credit for the same machine, they may ask a reason or just simply re-sell me my own return and the stuck pixel.
I guess, I call my sales rep, and add something small to it, so it will be different.

Before you return it, might I suggest that you try fixing the stuck pixel?

You can try the "massage" method, as well as using FIXEL. It's linked to at the bottom of that page.
In my T42's lifetime I've had 2 pixel issues, both of which were fixable. The first - a pixel seemingly went dead, black, and by massaging I was able to get it back. It hasn't been a problem since.
The second - a few months ago I had a pixel get stuck red and FIXEL fixed it, massage didn't. It took a while, but it got fixed and is gone now. I alternated beteween leaving the LCD off for a while, leaving FIXEL on for a long time, and finally it went away.

A true "dead" pixel cannot be remedied easily by any software or light hardware modifications; stuck pixels can be and I do suggest you try out a series of flashing colors in a loop and leave it on the area of the affected pixel. The massage method I am less sure of. Try those first.
