Just got T60, slim battery question

Hey all, I'm typing this from my very own thinkpad(T60 2007C5U), and I love it. Unfortunately it came with a chicony keyboard, which I really dislike, mostly due to lack of travel. I know the other keyboards have a different feel, but do they also have a different depth? Another thing I seem to have a problem with is that when I try and install the slim bay battery I picked up (it is the type required for this computer, I ordered it via a T60 specific accessories page) doesn't seem to fit. When I put it in, it goes almost all the way, and then stops just short of clicking in. I don't want to force it, and it feels completely different from my DVD burner at that point, which just slides and clicks... any help here? I know it works on my machine, it just seems to not want to cooperate.

Regards,

-Schuyler

PS. My computer also came with the samsung LCD(which has no dead pixels... yay), but I'm wondering, simply out of curiosity, how it compares to the others. I know its not a big deal, I'm just wondering.

The battery should go in with the yellow sticker up. Verify that the "face" of the battery - the side that is visible once the battery is installed - is totally smooth. If it's angled, then you have have received a T4x battery by mistake.

As for the keyboard travel, the Alps and Chicony have about the same travel but the Alps feels more solid, in my opinion.

ah, that would be it.. thanks. I'll call them up and set up an RMA for the battery tomorrow. Its weird that they would sell the T4x battery on a T60 page.
