Best wireless optical, laser or BT mouse for the T60?

What do you use?
Microsoft, Kensington, Logitech, IBM? No brand?
I am looking for a large size and comfortable mouse, not a small laptop mouse (I have big hands...), but with low power consumption if at all possible.
Might be interested in buying it as a combo with wireless keyboard.
Any suggestions, tips?
Thanks.

For me the obvious choice when one's notebook has BT onboard is a BT mouse. The Logitech v270 fits the bill nicely. It's not the biggest mouse, but I also have large hands and find it comfortable to work with.
If you do go for this, then be sure to install the latest BT firmware update from IBM.

Thanks Anthony.
Bluetooth is indeed the obvious way to go.
I just looked at the Logitech v270 on Logitech's site
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/produ ... NTID=10916
It says it is for laptop. Usually laptop mice are somewhat smaller, but I gather that this is not the case from what you say.
Any other Bluetooth mice out there that others would like to recommand for the T60?
Thanks.

I just got one of these off eBay, will let you know how it is when I get it:

The model is a couple years old, but is still popular and gets good reviews.

Doesn't the DiNovo mouse charge in a cradle and lack an off switch? That would make it difficult to take on the road. I had one (for a day) and if you like big mice you'll like this one. It's big and heavy. Not my thing at all, but if you sit at a destop and don't pick up the mouse when you move it then this might be a good fit.

Thanks Darren.
Of course I'd rather have a light mouse, I don't want something too heavy and with a bulky craddle.
But I don't want one of those tiny mice designed for laptops, they are just too small, I prefer not to have a mouse at all.
The Logitech v270 might be it. I'll try to look at it at one of the local office / computer stores.

The Logitech v270 is 10.6 cm (4.2") long and weighs 120 g (4.25 oz), incl. 2 AA batteries .
I'd describe it as compact and stylish.
(But it's beyond me why the SetPoint software is so such a huge download.)

note that you can remove 1 of the baterries of the v270 to make it lighter and it still will work.

Just saw the Logitech V270 at Microcenter, I wish it was a tad bigger, other than that it seems perfect. It was listed at 44USD.
I think I could use that in the office and when travelling. I'll just need to get a USB keyboard for the office to go along with the v270.
I couldn't find anything better on the floor.
I saw quite a few Microsoft mice. Any thoughts on these?

Since my T60 is mostly on my table, I decided against getting a bluetooth mouse as I wouldn't be all that bothered with a wired mouse. Moreover, I've been using wired mice for the good 10+ years I've been using computers and am still quite skeptical about using wireless mice. Anyway, if I were to go mobile, there was still the mouse "with the little red rubber cap on the top"
When I got my T60, I decided that it was good time I upgraded from my 3-yr old Wheel Mouse Optical. I finally decided on the Laser Mouse 6000. After only a few days of using it, I'm wondering how I survived on a low resolution mouse all these years. Mouse movement is reduced quite a lot now due to the increased sensitivivty. I also love the precision. The reason I chose this over all the MS mice available is that it was the only one which still had the same shape of my old mice (I've got 3 Wheel Mouse Opticals and 2 Intellimouse Explorers).
If Microsoft makes a bluetooth mouse which doesn't require a dongle, and has the same classic shape as my old mice, I'd buy it. But until that day comes, my new Laser Mouse 6000 is my new favourite toy.

Although it comes with a bluetooth USB dongle, it's not required if you already have bluetooth built in. In fact, most (if not all) bluetooth mice do not come with or require an external dongle.

Thanks interpol. This muse looks really good. I actually got the Logitech V270 yesterday, I love the fact that it is bluetooth and its precision, the design is nice and classy too as reported by other. The only minus is its size, it is a tad too small for my large hand... but I haven't spent enough time yet on it. I'd like to have a closer look at this Microsoft one though, on thepicture it looks really ergonomic, might be comfortable than the Logitech v270. I'll go back to Microcenter to see if they have it there on the floor so I can put my hand on it.

I tried this out at the store, and it is quite a monster. The wierd hand position when using this mouse (for me at least) may cause more wrist strain than normal.

I had the Microsoft BT mouse for a couple of days before returning it for usability issues. I really didn't like the non-detent, "sticky" mouse wheel--too much friction to get it going. It did find my T60p easily, as I remember...

Generally I have been saddened by the move away from Bluetooth to proprietary+dongle wireless mice. I'm just not using a dongled mouse and would really like to be wireless.
A friend of mine has the Logitech® G7 Laser Cordless Mouse with the dongle and rechargable battery pack. He HATES the battery thing because it means that he's always having to lug along the charger or remember to have the second battery around. He says the battery life is way too short.

Anyone know of a good retractible usb optical wheel mouse? I found a sweet deal on one for 10 bucks that fit the bill but the order got cancelled. I do some gaming while on the road so I need decent DPI.
Laser is as good as corded

I use a wireless Logitech MX Laser mouse on my desktop.
Benefits:
1) Tracks nearly as well as corded (better than any optical or other bluetooth I've used)
2) very comfortable to my hand. Large and nicely shaped.
3) Nice wheel, side buttons.
4) Lasts an incredibly long time between charges
5) Currently selling for around $40, a relative bargain.
Detriments:
1) Need room on your desk for the docking cradle, into which it must occaisionaly be placed for recharging.
2) The docking cradle needs to plug into
a) electrical power and
b) an available port on your usb hub.
I'm considering purchasing a bluetooth mouse to keep in my laptop bag, but for home desktop usage, I'm very pleased with this laser wireless mouse. I've been frustrated by the lack of responsiveness in other wireless/bluetooth mouses, particularly when doing detailed selections in Photoshop.

You might want to try the Logitech G5. It's relatively expensive, but its precision and smoothness of the movement is well worth the price! I have one for my desktop...but personally, I prefer the little red dot while using the laptop. After all, it's built in and much more convenient to use...
Or, if you prefer wireless mouses, you could choose the G7 version.
