Storing data on. Disk IBM_Preload (C:) ???

I have a German system, so I hope I get the translation right.

Bought a T60 for my wife and was transferring a folder with her documents from our Desktop to her T60.

When I clicked on Desktop I see: My documents, (name user) documents and C: IBM_Preload (C:) C: has 51 free GB, but when I clicked on the C. disk I got a warning not to change anything on this segment.
So I transferred the folder with from the desktop documents to 'Her' documents.

Did I do the right thing or was I too careful. The data transferred is 91MB in Word documents (do not want to lose that), in addition I do not want the restore capabilty derailed.

Advice is appreciated.

IBM_Preload is the volume label given to the hard drive when the image was created by the manufacturer. "My Documents" is a folder on that hard drive. I think what you are seeing is the message that files on the main root of the volume are "Hidden", so you can't create documents there. You can do three things (or more):

1. Just use "My Documents"
2. Create a new folder somewhere and use that for whatever you wish.
3. In Windows Explorer or "My Computer" click on Tools -> Folder Options -> View and change the option for Hidden Files to "View them".

Option 3 is the best one.

Thanks for answering, one more follow up question:

I chose option three (so I can see the existing folders on (C:), am I allowed to create a new folder on C: to store the documents which I transferred from my desktop?
