hi,

i plan to get a ThinkPad Advanced Mini Dock for my t60 in order to connect an external DVI TFT display. i would like to use a 1680x1050 display and am not sure if it will work. according to lenovo, maximum supported resolution for DVI is 1600x1200.

has anyboy experience with above setting?

thanks,
marco

I don't know which video chip you have (x1300, x1400, x1600) but you should have no problems.

IBM/Lenovo frequently misquotes the capabilities of their computers, particular video capabalities. Right now I'm running 1920x1200 resolution right from the dock's DVI port, which is far beyond the 1600x1200 you were quoted.

Some of the Thinkpad Z61 series use the x1400 and have a built-in display that runs at 1680x1050. And I've read about other people running that resolution from a T60.

While I don't have a monitor that I can test that resolution for you, I'm sure that you will be just fine.

I've got my notebook at native 1600x1200 and my 2405FPW at native 1920x1200 with zero problems.

I'm pleased to report that I'm using a z60t (GMA900 chipset) - through the dock w/ a 6600 card, the DVI to a DELL monitor at 1680 x 1050 is great.
