Folks:
Appreciate all of your answers to my former posts!
I am about to place an order for the following quote.
Could you please review, if it looks OK and provide suggestions regarding what else could be added, upgraded and the like?
I do not need the Verizon EVDO WWAN option. But I do need all available other communication/port options, wired and wireless; including a WWAN option (at my discretion) via a PCIMC or USB slot.
Applications: biomed research, general office stuff and video (broadcast-quality) editing (only cutting and pasting, no other magics), frequent worldwide travel.
Thanks a lot!

T60 config specs - I am missing something?
I'd cut the warranty back, and spend the money on a 9-cell battery and maybe even a slim-bay battery to have on hand during your frequent travel.
Other than that, you're pretty well maxed out.
If you decide to run Windows Vista in the future, you may want to buy an extra 2GB memory module.

Apathy is on the rise, but nobody seems to care.
Thanks for the comment.
The 9-cell battery sticks out, which is not desirable during my travels, and I have a solar power option in remote locations.
I am thinking of the 2 GB upgrade for RAM.
Thanks again!
Is the fingerprint reader really useful or just a fancy gizmo feature? Does it eliminates - in an effective and reliable manner - the need of typing passwords to start the machine and to end screensavers?

Most certainly. *Yes it does*; I have yet to have it do otherwise at least once when I need it.csicsi wrote:

The way others, like Sony and the rest, do the FPR actually does make it gimmicky; yet the way it is done on Thinkpads is *very* useful under all conditions, I have yet to find a situation where it doesn't fill in info and swipe authenticate me into my systems as I desire.
