Still not running at maximum CPU performance

I have my T60 connected to AC and when i run super pi i get about 2 mins and 10 seconds. I should get around 1 min 26 seconds (with my T2300).
I've set maximum performance with battery and AC in the thinkpad energy app.
In control panel->System, below T2300 @ 1,66 GHZ it says 980 mhz, 504 MB ram.
I think my system is running at 980 MHZ.
Any clues?

Changing the it under the power scheme tab (Under thinkpad config) and not just the power manager is what changed my clock speeds. Up from 987 to the normal 1.83... If I just changed it under the manager - it wouldn't change it. Had to be changed under the scheme in order to get the speeds up. Super Pi'ing at 1:18 as predicted now.

i sat and tried the method you described but it is still not working.
I've tried it for over an hour and still won't work.
What should i do ?

when i change my settings with thinkpad power manager, it never fails. try using it if youre not already..

Figured it out.
Battery has to be in.
Darn.
Isn't there a fix to this? I want it to run on AC without battery in with full speed.
Could any member please check if it is possible to run at full speed without battery in?

If I may ask... why do you want to run without the battery in?

using power manager, there is no difference whether the battery is in or not. if its running on ac, it follows the setting regardless of if the battery is installed. you will get full cpu speed using power manager.
...did you try power manager??

To use the battery as little as possible for a longer lifetime.

Yes i tried all different schemes but i cannot get it to run at full speed. I have to have the battery inserted to be able to run at full speed.
I'm tweaking lenovo's own energy app and windows built in power manager.
Maybe there's something wrong with my T60. If someone would try it out and tell me how it went.

Hi raptor,
That was my impression too -- but others have convinced me now (here on this board0 to leave the battery in. I am tru\yin to play with the power manager settings (recharge only when below 75% and stop charging at 95%).
But just like you my 'impression' was the less you use the battery the longer it will last, so just leave it out of the TP.
How often are you planning to recharge your battery if you keep it outside of your TP?
