Hi All ,
I am new to this forum and new to Thinkpad T60 too !!!. I recently bought thinkpad t60 1.83 Ghz duo core.. i have a small issue with my laptop.. while the system is accessing the harddisk i could hear a creaking noise.. is it a normal one ?? or should i care about that ??? .. Any inputs will be very much helpfull.

If it sounds like a scratching one, banging or thumping, then it is not normal. If it sounds like the platter rotating but noisy, it should be ok.

Thanks for the info. Apart from the hard disk rotating noise (which is very less when compared to other laptops), I could a feel a little friction noise (a creaking noise which is not continuous) which comes whenever the hard disk light blinks.

Ohh...I see...
