The new T60 comes with a red sticker on the cover (left bottom corner). I would like to take it off, but seems it's pasted very tightly. Do you guys have good way?

I ust peeled all of them off when I go tthe machine home. I used scotch tape to pull the remaining glue off from the sticker. Worked Like a charm

Try a hair dryer. That works for most adhesives without leaving residue

It should just peel right off if you lift the corner...

I used a scalpel to gently lift the corners of the stickers and then just peeled them off.

^^ Yup, mine peeled right off, nothing special just took a corner, pulled it off. There was no residue to take care of.

Thanks everyone, same as wez312, just try a little bit hard to peel off one corner, the rest will be very easy.

Got you! I am not taking off the stickers on palm rest, I am taking off a stickers on LCD cover.

Why would a stickerless palm rest be weird? One of the first things I do when I get a new ThinkPad is take off all those stickers. It looks better and is more comfortable.

warm water is one way - another is WD40 lubricant. Which dissolves only the adhesive. Then wash with dishwashing detergent and warm water to remove the WD40.

Now you are really scaring me. WD-40 on a ThinkPad? Maybe on your A31p with its unpainted black plastic, but is that safe on a painted ThinkPad?

I wish all ThinkPads had the simple unpainted plastic finish of the A30-A31 series - it's the most durable of any of them, and it keeps looking good as you use it without all the oily-looking spots the painted models get. Maybe it's immune to WD-40 too?

Forgot to mention... To remove the outside sticker on my T60p, I used the plastic toothpick from my Swiss Army Knife to poke at the corner of the sticker a bit. The tip has just enough sharpness to get under the corner, and once that's up the sticker comes right off. I kept the toothpick flat against the case so it wouldn't dig down into the finish.

The stickers on the palmrest were a little tougher; I used a combination of the plastic toothpick and fingernails to lift a corner.

Each sticker left a bit of adhesive residue behind, and I simply used the sticker itself to pull its own residue off. Just push the sticky side against the remaining residue, pull the sticker back off (it's easy this time), and repeat as needed.

There is a very easy way to remove these stickers without leaving any residue behind, from the adhesive. This saves one from having to use any of the chemicals (or water) suggested on this forum. I know as I have a lot of experience peeling off the stickers on the 3 or 4 new Thinkpads I purchase each year...

For the sticker on the outside lower left corner of the LCD cover, do this: Carefully lift one corner and then very slowly and gently pull it up and away. The key is to go really slow to allow the adhesive to stay with the sticker instead of sticking to the lid of the computer. Then once it's removed it there is any remaining adhesive just "dab" at it with the adhesive side of the sticker that you just removed and it will lift the remaining adhesive that stayed on the lid.

Use this same procedure on the 2 smaller stickers that are on the palm rest and you are done. Also remember the longer those are left on the harder they are to remove. I typically remove the stickers the moment I unpack the computer from it's shipping box. Then I proceed to boot it up and setup the system to my liking.

I did remove mine too, they came right off with ease once the corner was lifted, no residue, all glue stayed on the sticker so that I sticked them back on the first page of my TP Service and Troubleshooting Guide!

If there is still some goo left how about some goo gone. That removed countless stickers from my car windows i would think it would work great here.

Goo Gone is safe for your windshield because it is glass. The ThinkPad cover uses a rubberized paint. The Goo Gone label says do not use on rubber. That seems a bit too close for comfort. If you must try it, test the Goo Gone on the bottom of the case first.

I recommend the simple mechanical approach of using the adhesive remaining on the sticker itself to pull off the adhesive residue on the case.

Exactly, i've removed all the stickers from all my TP's without any chemicals so it is possible. Rub with fingers or thumb.

seriously guys... hair dryer works best. Don't bother with any of this other crap.

Apply a thin layer of oil: NOT kerosene!!! to a flat piece of metal pen knife blade and slip the edge of the blade in the side of the sticker and slowly inch your way up the sticker and whooo... Sticker comes off. <-- I got proof.

I had used this method and experimented it yesterday night and after pulling that sticker off, use a cloth to wipe away the oil will do and your tp will be as good as new.

Confirm no residue, no scar, no scratch, no need skills to pull the sticker off and no need to use finger or thumbs or whatever to rub the gluey stuffs off.
