To change or not to change

#1 Post by saxo » Sun Jul 09, 2006 6:01 am

hi

After updating my T60 from IBM website, my HDD got corrupted & I will be going to IBM service centre to reformat my HDD. As my HDD is only 40gb, I am thinking to buy a bigger HDD. I came accross the forum here saying that for T60 can only use Hitachi 7K100 (7200rpm) HDD or you have other suggestion for me. Do you think I can buy & change the new HDD & get the IBM ppl to install the factory default software since they are going to install the software for me.

Anything for me to take note if the changes can be done.

Thanks a million

Um ... you can restore the hard drive content to factory condition yourself by pressing Thinkvantage button and run Rescue and Recovery.

T60 can also use non-IBM 2.5" 9.5mm SATA laptop drives like Seagate momentus 7200/5400 series.
