The fake dead pixel issue caused by UltraNav software

I like to hibernate my T60 rather than reboot it. so I saw the fake dead pixel very often, it's randomly on the screen, so i have to push the middle button of UltraNav to kick it out. Is there any one know how to fix this issue? Or there is only one solution --- disable trackpoint?

Thanks!

Whine at Lenovo and ask if it is possible that their programmers could somehow disable this...I dont see how it got there in the first place.

Oops, just found disabling trackpoint can't fix this issue actually.

I was able to disable the problem by turning the middle clicker into a "middle" click, and not a scroll button. I prefered the middle click for opening tabs anyways.. so it was a plus :)

This will do good? Worth a shot I guess. It has been around as the UltraNav driver bug on some systems since the T42 and T41. That and, pardon me but, it is a pretty hilarious bug to begin with. Wy do the pointing device drivers cause a unique pixel problem on an LCD that just affects *one* random pixel. It boggles the mind.

Perhaps looking at the driver via a Hex editor and/or a dis-assembler would help narrow down the offending instruction set.

Although I am almost sure it is a software conflict...with something...somewhere. :?

Unfortunately this doesn't help (at least it doesn't work for me). It actually made the problem even worse because getting rid of such pixel requires me to get into thinvantage configuration, swich middle button functionality, press it (here the pixel disappears) and than switch it back. Still no workaround for this?
