T60p temps with GPU and CPU under full load

#1 Post by own6volvos » Wed Jul 12, 2006 7:04 pm

Just a little FYI incase this ever comes up by search for anyone, or some Apple guys are trying to find out what "normal" laptops feel like.

Super PI doing a 32M calculation about 5 minutes in, and a video stress tester going same time.

Fan forced to max using tpfancontrol (bios wasn't going top speed)

The laptop is on an old 1U firewall box, so it has a nice perfectly flat surface to keep air flowing right.

Room Temp: 24.6C

Internal Temps:

CPU: 82C
GPU: 90C

External Temps (Raytek MiniTemp IR Gun)

Palmrest Left: 30.8C
Palmrest Right: 31.4C

Top right (above keyboard at base of screen): 29.2C
Top left (above keyboard at base of screen): 34.2C

Bottom Average: 32C
Bottom Hot Spot (under fan outpet area): 44C

I sustained 99 deg.C GPU & 89 deg.C CPU when running SecondLife for 2.5 hours the other night...

Lots of hot air .. but system completely stable.

Stable? You sure. You were 1 degree off the actual limit thermal capacity of your Intel processor!
I thought my T41p was hot, then I know is not :?
