hi in my previous t43, i had two 1GB ram.
my new t60 has 1gb ram.
Can i use my t43 memory into the t60?
while i know we can go up to 4gb with the t60, how many memory banks does the t60 have?
please excuse the ignoramus questions, have been using thinkpads for so long and just recently discovered this forum.
this forum is opening my eyes to what one can do with a notebook as i have always only been tinkering with desktops all this years.

The T60 has 2 bays. I cant be sure, but I think the T4x series may have compatable RAM. Look up the type on Crucial.com, and see if they take the same kind. You can also open up your laptop and look.

thanks 4 the info...
managed to look it up.. looks like the memory are different types.
ThinkPad T43 Series (Type 2668) CT435138 1024MB DDR2 PC2-4200 • CL=4 • UNBUFFERED • NON-ECC • DDR2-533 • 1.8V • 128Meg x 64
ThinkPad T60 Series (Type 2623) CT517018 1024MB DDR2 PC2-5300 • CL=5 • UNBUFFERED • NON-ECC • DDR2-667 • 1.8V • 128Meg x 64
Couldn't find the 2GB one piece though... Has it been released?

You can use DDR2-533 RAM in the T60, but of course the RAM will only work at 533 speeds. To get the maximum speed you'll want to get DDR2-667 RAM.
