Problems with sounds when playing itunes: crackling

#1 Post by jhk » Sun Jul 16, 2006 12:42 pm

I noticed when my T60p is not connected to the adapter when when i have iTunes in the back playing and i have firefox open and click on different thing surfing i hear crackling sound from the songs and speakers.. this doesn't happen when I have the computer docked or plugged to the adapter.. i currently have 1.07 bios already when it was shipped to me. Is there something i can do or driver/downloads i need to install to fix this problem.. very annoying.. Thanks,
Jae

PS: Also besides crackling.. it sort of sounds like it's skipping or a slight pause before the song continues.. slight hesitation...

Does it crack with other music playing software? Are you using external USB/Firewire soundcard?

coincidentally, i got a similar effect on my z60m with azalia sound. i'd play music in winamp, and when i paused it, it would crackle as it stopped/muted.

so i might be led to relate it to the azalia or its drivers.

yes... i just used windows media player to play 2 of the songs that came orginally with the computer and when i was clicking around on firefox it did it again.. doesn't do it every single time.. but if i continue to search the web and click around it will happen.. i went to lenovo and d/l the newest audio driver and installed and rebooted.. same thing.. argh.. very frustrating.. i had similar audio issues with my Hell Inspiron 8600... ended up having to reinstall xp.. this is my 2nd T60p Lenovo sent me.. the very first one i ordered had screen problems. I started having dvd-drive issues with this one too.. but i called Tech.. and they had me d/l a DLA update from ibm's website. No problem so far with that.. :)

PS: so far.. i've only noticed this happening when i am not docked to my advanced dock or unplugged from the adapter..

I really hope it's not a common Intel HD audio (Azalia) issue.
