Update on 2GB sticks

Does anyone have an update on the availability and pricing of the 2GB (1x 2GB) sticks of ram for the T60s? I google it but nothing comes up.

You can get one from Dell:

and I think there is one from transcend, at least in Germany some dealers claim it is available.

Crucial had one with 667Mhz but since at least 2 months it is not available any more.

The Dell should work on the T60s right? I've heard that ThinkPads are very particular.

Its identical to the T60 module, though they dont list the timings. PC5300 DDR2, 200 Pin SODIMM, only difference from Lenovo chips is that its 2GB instead of 1GB

Here is the 2GB Module that you are looking for.

I came across an unusual ECU hack for my Mercedes E55 AMG. While the memory modules are expensive, the results of installing two of these was an increase of 125HP and 8 mpg improvement in my mileage....(just kidding)... :lol: :lol: :lol:

If you read the complete Dell product details it says:

Therefore Dell charges 2x $793.95 = $1587.90
Crucial price, a single 2GB module = $1791.99

So while Dell is somewhat less expensive, the differential is not as great as it seems at first glance. Once again the "Dell Marketing Machine" is quick to mislead the consumer... :shock:

I thought you were serious about the E55 and thought that Kleemann or Brabus came out with a new ECU. I do a lot of photoshoping so the upgrade would help, a lot.

Well, it says they recommend that you buy two of them, but it isnt required. Also, realize that 793 is an extremely high price for a 1GB card.

While I was kidding about the 2GB ECU hack, I did in fact just get an AMG (prototype) modded ECU for my new E55 from a contact at the AMG engine management team. It's being installed tomorrow and I'm really excited.... :lol: :lol: :lol:

I have a friend on the East Coast that completed a full Kleeman upgrade about 7 months ago, and it's his daily driver. Fast, tractable, a very fine example of a well balanced super high performance MBZ. I drove it about a month ago, and the NVH (noise, vibration & harshness) was very refined, leaving only the exhaust note and intake roar to be enjoyed.

I stopped (temporarily) participating in auto forums as my collection is quite varied, and I was spending more time on forums than driving. Well, not quite, but you get the picture. I must admit that my passion runs towards my Ferrari F40, Ducati 999R Fila Factory Works Superbike (not licensed or replica) and a host of other fun track vehicles. Wow very cool! The F40 is an amazing car! I am on the list for a F430 (March 2008 delivery). This will be my first F car (very very excited)! So will you sell tickets to view the F40?

Fairly easy. You have to remove the touchpad, but there are four screws on the bottom marked, so its easy. Then you just pop the palmrest off, and the RAM is right there.

Yes - the I'm sitting on the beach in santa cruz - typing this... my car is about 100 meters behind me. The bike is in the garage this weekend. But since it's race weekend at Laguna seca - I should have taken the 996 out. :)

I started thinking about the Cayman S as my next Dream Car; then somebody mentioned the Corvette Z06. Which, as it happened, turned a painful potential decision into an excruciating one. :D

Congratulations, you are doing to be astounded at what a truly great car it is! Ferrari have come such a long way in terms of build quality and driveability that you will be able to enjoy the car in any environment you wish to drive in.

Growing up in a Motorsports family it was all about cars. Being German & Italian it was about High Performance German cars as daily drivers and Ferrari's as the real excitement. Even though I had been a "regular Ferrari customer" for years the aquisition of the (then) new F40 was one of my most satisfying accomplishments. Little did I know each time I purchased a new car from them that some day, years later, it would lead to the privilege of being invited to Maranello for a seat fitting for a new F40. After what seemed like years the car was completed and the I enjoyed the experience of a lifetime. Returning to the Ferrari Compound, taking delivery of the car, and lapping the Fiorano Test Track under the watchful eye of a small group of engineers and related staff. A milestone of joy.... :D

you sure about keeping up?...E55 has 469bhp which can make up a lot for the weight it carries.

This is a fantastic car! The only shortcoming (for me) is the lack of manual gearbox, which would make this car so much more fun to drive.

They have done an outstanding job with the sequential box in the car. However unlike an F-1 car where you can readily access the shift paddles on the steering wheel, try doing that while turning the steering wheel in the M5... :? Anyone who has driven a road car with paddle shifters understands this problem.

I am so glad that I kept my 2003 M5, so that I have the choice of waiting, as I understand that there will be a manual gearbox in the new 2007 M5. Now _that_ will be an exciting road car.
