I previously posted a problem on this forum concerning
the slowdown of my computer when typing.
Here is the original post:
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... highlight=
It was suggested that I disable the ATI Hotkey Poller.
How is this done?
Thanks![/url]

Right click My Computer and select Manage. In the Computer Management console expand Services and Applications, then select Services. Right click ATI HotKey Poller and select properties. Select Statup Type Disabled, click OK. Reboot. All gone.

Rats!
It already says DISABLED.
Looks like I'll have to look elsewhere to find the
cause of the keyboard slowdown problems.

Do you happen to be running Office 2007 Beta?

That is, without a doubt, your problem! I had Office 2007 beta running on my computer causing the exact same problem. I ended up rebuilding my T60 with a fresh copy of XP and Office 2003, no problems.
There's something about mixing a T60 and Office 2007 Beta that isn't working right; keyboards like to "freeze" up.
I'd watch for a future beta or release candidate for this issue to be resolved.

That's interesting information.
Can I just uninstall the Beta copy or is it an absolute
must that I need to do a format and fresh install?
Thanks in advance!

I don't actually know- I hope an uninstall will help you. Give it a shot before taking the long route.
Best of luck.
