Has anyone found optimal O/C settings for the v5200?

#1 Post by HockeyZ39 » Fri Jul 21, 2006 8:54 am

I am using powerstrip to bump my card up to the factory speed (it was running alittle under.) I was wondering what people have theres O/C'ed to white still remaining stable.

Thanks!

Let me know if PS works reliably for you. I've tried the latest version as well as the one that people are using with the x1400 and it locks my machine up much of the time. I've tried both Omega drivers and stock with CCC.

I've also had PS race the processor and use up my battery so be on the lookout for that. It's too bad because PS is a great program but it doesn't seem properly coded for the V5200 yet.

I have only had it lock up on me twice using the omega drivers. I have probably changed it about 15 times. I am using the PS that the x1400 guys are using.

Though I don't get very aggresive, I think the highest I have gone is 425/350ish. The last two times I have done it are the times it froze up, so I have been a bit scared to play with it since I don't want to fry anything! 8)

My experience has been that if it works once it will pretty much work for the rest of the session. If it locks up then it seems to fail for the rest of the day (including reboots).

Interestingly (to me :) ) this is the same behavior I see in the automatic screen blanking. If it works once it seems to multiple times. Once it stops working it takes a long time to get its act together again.

Well that stinks, b/c every time you restart its like rolling the dice. I was going to just have a custom profile I could load be4 gaming, it would also be like throwing the dice in this situation. Wish there was an better way to O/C the v5200, some of the benchies from the O/C x1400 are quite impressive.

Agreed - perhaps time will yield a solution. I'm hoping that *someone* will code V5200 support into their program. I test every new version of ATI Tool, ATI Tray Tools, Radlinker and PowerStrip, but nothing so far. :(
