ThinkPad Advanced Mini-Dock - can I open the screen?

If the T60 is docked into the ThinkPad Advanced Mini-Dock, can I open the LCD screen and use it as the primary screen (while all other peripherals are connected to the docking station)?

OR if the T60 is docked, then the screen can not be opened due to the Mini-Dock design or else (I see a small rim on the Mini-Dock that apparently prevents opening the screen).

Yes, of course you can open the screen on the dock - it wouldn't be much use, if you couldn't. External monitor is just an option.
