Pixel fix software

#1 Post by archer6 » Fri Aug 04, 2006 10:51 am

I have a bad pixel (black) that just appeared in the lower right side of my (15"SXGA+) display about 1" up from the bottom and just next to the vertical scroll bar in most applications.

I searched and found the pixel fixer file, that is posted in several sites. Here is the one I downloaded Pixel Fixer

A zipped file named: M4V56052.MP4 I downloaded it but it will not unzip. Using Win XP built in extractor simply reproduces a single icon on the desktop sans the zipped folder Icon.
When I double click on that icon I get a dialog box which says:Windows cannot open this file: What do you want to do.
Use the Web service to find the appropriate program
Select the program from a list
I cannot get this file to run. Any ideas?

For the record, do you know about the trackpoint software bug that causes an errant pixel to darken or lighten randomly around the screen? If this is causing the problem, try hitting the scroll button.

Anyways, that is an MP4 file. You will need either a third party video player or Quicktime (iTunes will load it if Quicktime is installed) to view it. Is the output file titled M4V56052.MP4?

jjesusfreak01,

Hey thanks for your response and for waking me up (duh...it's an MP4 file) ...

1) Yes, I am aware of the trackpoint software bug and eliminated that as a source of the problem.
2) I tend to speed read through so much of this that I completely missed the fact that it is indeed an MP4 file. So, now I will run this and see if it fixes it.

On the postive side if it does not fix it, then I will view it as simply one more thing for me to accept, as I continue to try and shed my perfectionist tendencies...
