Help! Monitor issue!

#1 Post by MaloventEvil » Sun Aug 06, 2006 9:14 pm

Ok... I've had my thinkpad for a while now and this is the first problem that I have encountered... So I went out of town for a day and left my computer on my desk (T60P 2623DDU). I turned it on when I got back and there was a black spot.. by spot I mean like something that looks like a small 1cm antialiased line from photoshop.

It isnt a spot or something external to the monitor; it is something from within the monitor... Anyone have any ideas?

Is there after you restart? Try changing resolutions?

If it appears in different places it could be a defect in the video RAM. Which video chipset do you have and did you add some 3rd party RAM?

it started appearing in 2 different sections.. it is resolution independent, and even occurs in bios. It also does not happen on an external monitor. i think it's the screen.... am i really the only person seeing this problem?

Pictures of it would be good; optimized and linked to or warned about of course. :)

Either it is a problem with the LCD (probable) or with the video card (less probable than the former, but still possible in comparison).

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

Call, talk to service, they may need to replace the LCD or internal video components....
