I just recieved my T60p yesterday and i just noticed a few things.

1)I am having problems using the lower built in mouse buttons. the left betton seems to select items evan when i have not pushed it but jsut slightly touched it or res ted my finger on it.

2) my LCD cover(rubbery cover) seems to have 2 spots where it has strange marking where it differs form the rest of it, .like there was a lot of friction on this spot, which could not have been caused by me since i have not taken this anywhere or really even touched it much.

Everything else i have noticed about this machine is really great, i am just interested to know if anyone has run into any similar situations and what the solutions are.

thank you
pete

Greetings and Welcome to the Forum....:D

I believe that this is something that you will adapt to as these buttons are very reliable and very sensitive, however there is ample travel to prevent this once you are used to not "resting" or "brushing" up against them.

One of my new ThinkPads came like this right out of the box. I took a terry cloth towel, moistened it with warm water and gently scrubbed the area with very little pressure. This lifted whatever it was and the cover looks like new. I also do this periodically just as rountine cleaning.
If this does not fix it and you feel that it came this way from Lenovo, I would call them and ask to have it exchanged. They have recently tightened up their previously liberal return policy, but I would try anyway.
Enjoy your new Thinkpad... :D
