Hi

I can't get my bluetooth headset (Motorola H500) to talk to my Thinkpad T60.
Any idea why?

My mobile phone (Sony Ericsson P910i) can see the headset...
...And my T60 can see the mobile phone!

So how can I get my headset to connect to my Thinkpad T60?

(I am wanting to set my PC up to do Skipe so that I can do VO I/P...)

I managed to successfully install "Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software for Windows XP" (file 7fba06ww.exe)... but when I try and scan for BlueTooth devices it cant see the Headset!

- Any thoughts?

my BT headset requires to push the ON button for 2sec (being already on) in order to be recognized. Try that.

Follow the instructions here, exactly: http://forum.skype.com/viewtopic.php?t=10822

The main problem with Thinkpads and Bluetooth is that two drivers are installed: the generic Microsoft one, and the fancy Widcomm one.

Windows will choose the Microsoft driver by default, which does not support the headphone profile. If you follow the instructions in the above link, the Microsoft driver will be replaced by the Widcomm (IBM) drivers which support a bunch of useful features.

There is a wizard in the IBM drivers that will guide you through configuring your headset.

If you do a Bluetooth update/install correctly with the IBM/Lenovo drivers...You won't have to worry about the Microsoft Bluetooth stack as well. :)

Okay is "Widcomm" the Microsoft version of the drivers?

Any idea why the microphone/BT combination buzzes then?

If it works albeit rather badly (i.e. the buzzing) with the IBM drivers
then is that the best I can hope for?

With thanks
