System Update vs. Software Installer

I notice that Lenovo has two update tools: System Update and Software Installer. Does anybody know why this is the case, and what is the difference between them?

Software installer is the best tool but it was an overlap to fill the voids in Update Connector. System Update is the replacement for Update Connector with many new features and, as a result, software installer is being discontinued very soon.
