Worth Selling my T43

#1 Post by gunston » Tue Aug 15, 2006 8:19 am

hi,
is it worth selling my current T43,
i have already got a potential buyer. And after that, all i need is just to add S$300 to get a brand new T60, with the new specs changed below:

T43
1.86Ghz
1GB RAM
80GB HD 5400rpm
6cell & 9cell bat.
14" XGA
ATI X300
Port Replicator
DVD/CDRW
INTEL Pro/wireless connection card.

T60
INTEL 945GM Express Chipset
1.83Ghz (Duo Processor T2400)
512mb RAM
80GB HD 5400 rpm
6 cells battery
14" SXGA+
Intel Integrated Graphic Media Accelerator
One Recovery CD
CDRW/DVDRW Multiburner
INTEL pro/wireless card

Usage:
word processing, play DVD movies, msn, email, simple graphic editing, multitasking(loaded with lot of programs) and the most important thing--no gaming at all!!!
is it worth???
and i am really fussy for the heat generated with the ATI express card although i still can manage to underv,lt it and remain the GPU 49degC and PCI 52degC with FAN ON. Heard that the Intel integrated card may have less heat dissipation (correct me if i'm getting it wrong), but i'm not sure whether or not this integrated graphic will be degraded in its performance?

well, i might have another option of getting X60s provided an additional of S$500

Just curious... when you mention S$, is it Singapore dollars? If so, how much are you selling/buying your T42/T60/X60 for?
If not, just ignore this...

If you're gonna be multi-tasking a lot, then the CoreDuo would be the better choice than the Pentium M. Do upgrade the RAM to at least 1Gb though.

gunston said he will be selling his T43 and NOT T42 . He will buy either a T60 or X60. :-)
