No sign of bluetooth and no fn+f5

I have to admit I'm no computer expert, especially when it comes to windows....forgive me if I give too much details/irrelevant details as I explain the problems. I've read the other posts on bluetooth and none of them are helping me with this problem. Here's my situation:

I have a brand new t60. It has a slightly non-traditional build of windows on it because I got it through work. There is no sign of bluetooth anywhere on my computer. No control panel, nothing under network connections, nothing under wireless link. The only thing which shows Bluetooth in the “device manager” network adapters category it shows a little icon and says “Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI)”, but that has a little yellow circle with an exclamation point in it on top of the icon. When I go to properties on it, it says: “This device cannot start. (Code 10).”

I’ve installed everything off the IBM website that is for T60s and Bluetooth. All the enhanced data rate stuff.

The obvious conclusion would be that my Bluetooth is simply turned off. But when I hit Fn+F5, my computer says “Unable to change the power state of the 802.11 wireless radio. Update the driver.” But I know that the intel wireless adapter I have doesn’t yet have an update which would allow the Fn+F5 to work. Also, the thinkvantage button on my computer doesn’t do anything when I press it (not sure if that matters).

So…any suggestions? Is there another way to turn on the Bluetooth? Other ideas people have for me?

Are you sure your machine HAS bluetooth in the first place? Sounds crazy I know but it's an important question. If you don't see a BT symbol on the LCD clear panel, you don't have BT from the factory. So if you DO see the symbol, try downloading and installing the hotkeys driver for your OS. That's always a good place to start.
