Horizonal sleeve owners, do you load your T60 into the sleeve headfirst or rear end first into the sleeve? This sleeve seems pretty tight to me and i'm not sure which way computer is supposed to go in as a result
I put the back end in first.
I too was troubled by the tight fit of the sleeve. I even wrote to them about it. Their advice was to just give it time to stretch out...I kept it in the sleeve for a couple of nights and the fit did get better. If you really don't like the fit, they will happily take it back and give you a bigger one. I would just give it time.

I have the same T60 as BL1, and it too was snug...still is, but the sleeve has stretched to the point that it goes in fairly easily now, with no slack.
I also slide it into the sleeve back end first, with the lid toward the front. Just doesn't seem proper any other way.

I know there has been a lot of discussion about the Waterfield sleeves. My question is what do you think about the checkered pattern on the bottom? I have emailed SFBags and they will put black ballistic on the bottom for $25. But the rep did say that the 'Lead' accent pattern is subtle. What do you think? Is it OK for a business environment?

I have been putting the front in first. Works well for me but since you all load front first, I'll give that a try too.

I'm curious about the checkered "carbon fiber" look on the bottom as well. However, if I understood you right, the rep you talked to quoted an additional 25 dollars to change it to plain black? That's over 1/2 the price of the sleeve itself...
As far as how to put the laptop in, if you have an extended battery, do you pretty much have to put it in front first? I get the feeling it would tilt/lean to one side if put in back end first with an extended battery sticking out.

I ordered a T61 14.1" WS and I'm planing to buy a Waterfield sleevecase for it. Anyway, the T61 is not yet listed on the sleeve size chart, so I asked Waterfield for the correct size. Here is what they said:
Just in case one of you guys is buying one for a T61..Thanks very much for writing. The new T61 with the 4 cell would use our
#26-19 sleevecase. You could also use the #27-19 horizontal sleevecase
if you wanted +0.5" left to right.
