Anyone out there running dual monitors with a T60 and a mini-dock? If so, what's the max. resolution that can be supported? I'm considering dual 19" lcd's (1280 x 1024 resolution) OR dual 20.1" lcd's (1600 x 1200 resolution) - haven't decided yet. Is the max. resolution on external monitors imited by the graphics processor in the laptop? If so, can all three of the folllowng - an ATI x1300, x1400, and FireGl 5200 - support both of the configurations listed above, running at native resolutions?

I need to buy a new machine and want to make sure it's outfitted with enough processing power.

For what it's worth, on my current thinkpad, which has an x1400 in it, when I select the display settings for LCD 2, the maximum resolution setting is 2048 x 1536. Does this provide any clues / the answer? Thanks.

Yes, you can run dual external monitors off the mini-dock. One will have to be digitial (DVI), the other analog (VGA). When you run two external monitors from the mini-dock, the built-in Thinkpad display will be dark.

And yes, any of the T60's video chips will easily drive those dual 19" or 20" displays in native resolution. No problem.

Thank you, Ron. That was very helpful. Out of curiousity, do you know if the Intel GMA 950 would also be able to support both cofigurations (i.e., two 19-inch lcd's running at 1280 x 1024 or two-20 inch lcd's running at 1600 x 1200)?
