external charging display light for t60P?

After a search yielded no results, I wanted see if anyone had information on the meaning of the frequency and color of the battery recharging light. Starts out amber flashing frequently then begins to flash more slowly and light green. Anyone deciphered if this represents how long to full charge? Would love to have a way to determine this without booting the machine. Thanks!!
