I'm torn between three different models of T60. Which one has a better value?

You are asking people to give thier opinion on how to spend a strangers money? Well i would at least go for the option b since it is dual core. The multibay burner is nice but you can pick up one that is dual layer(multi drive is single layer) 200$. So to upgrad to option c from b would give you 512 more ram(50$) mutli burner(200$) 20 gigs more space($30 more) fingerprint reader (60$). If it was my choice i would do 1 gig of ram minimum. I noticed a big difference from 512 to 1 gig in my t42p. I have a t60p 2007-84, 2.16 dual core, 100 gig, 2 gig ram, 3945abg wireless, fingerprint, multi burner, 14.1 screen sxga . The multi drive works great. the added ram is really nice. You are building a new pc might as well get what you need. If you want centrino go for the t43 since it has the donthan centrino chip. Dual core and i would recommend the t60. I have always been told buy what you need since the value of computers drops daily and what you buy now is always cheaper 6 months from now. A buddy of mine sells his old laptop every year and buys a newer one(used). He spends a couple hundred every year but he always has what he needs. Just food for thought.

Thanks a lot for a detailed answer. I originally chose option C as it was a discount one from my school, but I got a solicitation email from Lenovo offering options A and B. The biggest problem with Option B is that it comes with ATI X1300 graphic card, which is not compatible with Mac OSX.

Based on your reasoning, it seems like option C is not such a bad idea.
