ThinkPad T60p "Fn+F5" issue 2623D8U

#1 Post by lenovouser » Tue Aug 29, 2006 6:34 pm

I have thinkpad T60p (2623D8U)-1 month old, and I am having this strange issue where
- my wireless connection/light goes off by itself after 3-4 hours and
- popup-window even doesn't show up when I click on Fn+F5, so
- I have to reboot everytime whenever this happens to fix it.

Would appreciate any help on this issue.

Thanks

Have you updated the bios, controller and wireless driver?

Hi,

I got exactly same problem as you have. Mine happens after maybe 1.5 hour of use.

I have called Lenovo and they have sent me a new wireless card.
So far, I installed it yesterday and so far, it seems works without lock up. (The connection get lost one time but Fn-F5 still works).

I suggest you call Lenovo and ask to get a new card.

Good luck.

Too bad the same problem just happens after about 1.5 hour use.
Fn-F5 won't bring up anything. I will call lenovo again to see what is the next step.

If anyone has similar issue, please suggest if you have any suggestion.

Check your wireless card power settings. It might just be the card powering down or switching to a lower transmission power to save the battery--and thus losing the connection.

Are you running Windows Vista Beta 2? I had this problem with my X40 "Fn+F5" when I was trying Vista on it. But not any more because I have switched back to the original WinXP Pro.
