warranty upgrade

I have a T60 with a 1 year parts and labor warranty and thought about upgrading it to a 3 year parts and labor or on site. I've had to replace the keyboard so far and they sent that to me to do myself and that went fine. I'm just not sure if it's worth it...it's like 250 for an extra 2 years. Should my TP hold up fine after the 1st year of good operation. I'm just scared of my TP dying on me during school and i'll be stuck without a computer.
