Faux cover for battery port or optical drive port?

#1 Post by NYC10022 » Sat Sep 02, 2006 10:48 pm

Is there any fake plastic piece I can purchase to cover over my optical drive slot or battery slot if I wanted to remove those items before traveling with my machine? Toshiba used to provide a fake cover to insert over the battery if you wanted to remove it on their machines. Thanks

There is a faux plastic cover for Ultrabay Iltra or Ultrabay 2000. I actually got it from a docking station. cool thing, fits my Thinkpad t42 perfectly.

I'm not sure if they have battery sam eway, but I guess you can make one on your own, just butcher one battery and you're done :)

There isn't an official battery blank available, but there is a slim bay bezel which replaces the optical drive when it is pulled from the system. The aren't listed as option parts, and they are usually only available on machines pre-built with no optical.

The part number is 13N5108.

Is there a purchasable cover for the dock connector? My friend's vaio has a sliding cover built into the bottom of the case--you can slide it open to reveal the dock connector, and then close it when you are done.
