Power scheme changes when I turn off the display (With AC)

Hello,

I have a slight issue with my T60. I'd like to keep it running overnight to download some torrents from the internet. Obviously, it's on AC power during the night. I'd like to turn off the LCD screen in this scenario.

Whenever I turn it off, be it via the Fn + F3 button, or the thinkvantage productivity center, whichever powerscheme I have selected at that time is changed so that the thinkpad goes into standby after 20 minutes, and turns off it's HDD after 30 minutes.

Is there any way to change this behaviour?

you SHOULD be able to change the power scheme to allow the HDD to run and the diplay to go off..
i do this on my X60s and T60p..
and i use the Fn F# key combo to do it..

its quite possible, you'll just need to play with the settings..

OR..

there might be some app running that keeps turning the display on after you turn it off..

I have not witnessed that behavior (the OP's) on my T42. I don't know if it would make a difference, but you can try changing your BIOS power settings. You could use (create if needed) a power scheme setting that turns the LCD off after a short period of time, and use this setting at night when you want to do your downloads.

EDITED for clarity.
