New T60 - doubt regarding Battery

I got a new thinkpad T60 just a week back (I posted a review earlier) - I notice a small issue with the battery. With it being in charge all the time, the battery showed "100%" for the first couple of days and then it became 99%. Now it is at 98% - Is this a documented issue?
Apart from this, is there anyway to show the time remaining other than the % in the battery display?

This happened with my nine cell, I found that letting it run down around 60% it would charge back to 100%, but it did it off and on. I didn't really worry to much about it.

I believe this is caused by the battery management software. There is a setting in the Thinkpad power manager in the battery area which sets the recharge for maximum battery life, or for maximum battery run time.
If I understood the instructions correctly, maximum battery life allows the battery charge to stay at less than maximum, as this makes the battery last longer. Maximum battery run time will charge it to full whenever plugged in so as to give the most operating time on battery.
My T60p came in the maximum charge setting, so I changed it to the maximum life setting, and since making this change I have noticed also that it doesn't stay at 100%.

That is a simple setting in the Power Mangement config. By default, it wont "fully" charge until 95%. 96-99% it will just hold.
The decrease you saw is normal battery discharge.
You can change the setting to constantly charge to full if that is your thing.

I dont mean to hijack, but I have noticed that If I were to plug-in the
ac adaptor, before the powerManager starts up, the battery would
start charging even, if it was not below the threshold I have set it up
to start charging, this bugs me since I would have to restart to make
sure , the battery does not charge, since I work mostly with the ac
thanks
