additive noise when typing

Hello:
Has anyone experienced additive noise, more bass like, when you have a headphone on, primary sources are keys qwert columns, you can roughly say the left side of the keyboard.

so when i type i hear sound, dub dub dub when i press the keys, nothing on the right side though. thanks

my machine is t60p-200784u

I was about to post the exact same question today! The thing you describe is there in my new T60. Thnkpad veterans, any info on this?

yeah I just noticed it today and was abit annoyed with the sound.
so I was hoping if anyone could explain what it is,

The microphone is next to the bottom left corner of the keyboard. Maybe it is picking up the key noise. Does it still happen when you mute the microphone?
