O.k. It seems that I need a new hard drive for the T60. Any suggestions? Would like 100G 7200 ... do I go with IBM or can I find a better price or better deal elsewhere?
Need to do tomorrow as there is work to do.

Isn't it under warranty?
I have the 100gb 7200, and it is quiet and fast. Seems to be a good drive.

Probably the best replacement hard drive is the same drive that comes with the T60p: The 100GB 7200rpm Travelstar SATA. Right now, they're hard to find in stock at reputable dealers. You can search on froogle or shopping.com to see who may have them, but beware that some places say they have stock, take your order, and then make you wait for a long time. AtomicPark.com says they have the 100GB version in stock, but I've never used them.
You can get the 80GB version at NewEgg right now for $120:

I hear the SEAGATE 100GB SATA 7200 RPM 2.5IN MOBILE HDD is the current performance champ. I have a seagate 7200 RPM 60GB drive in my A31P and love it. I think that I'm going to order the Seagate drive for my new T60P and use the drive it comes with in the Ultrabay.

Thanks everyone ... I have a new HD and done the fresh install ...
by the way, it must be said that there is a difference between the 5400 and 7200 ... what is more, the fresh install is also worth the efford ...

I ordered a 100GB 7200RPM Travelstar 7k100 from pcalchemy.com on Sunday. They shipped it on Monday, and I am scheduled to have it delivered via UPS on Friday.
Total price was $155.49 shipped via UPS Ground.
I had never heard of this company before but I decided to take a chance based on their excellent rating on resellerratings.com. So far, so good.
