Has anybody tested "tpfancontrol" utility (https://sourceforge.net/project/showfil ... _id=153962)
on T60?

Need to know it works for T60 so that I can use this on my T60 1953E4U.

Thanks for your help!

Generally, it works. It sometimes crashes though, for unknown reason, which is dangerous because it does not give fan control back to BIOS then. I suspected the disk protection and disabled it, but it did not solve the problem -- it's still crashing, albeit less frequently. And it beeps frightfully every two hours or so because it quote unquote "COULD NOT SET FAN STATE!!!!" -- there's no way to disable this sound as far as I know. Anyway, here's my config (T2500; X1300):

Code: Select all

Active=2
Cycle=10
FanBeep=0 0
IconLevels=50 55 60
IgnoreSensors=GPU
MaxReadErrors=254
MinimizeToSysTray=1
MinimizeOnClose=0
StartMinimized=1

Level=47 0
Level=50 3
Level=55 4
Level=60 7
Level=70 128
With these settings, the fan mostly alternates between the first two levels. Without TP Fan Control running, the fan is hardly ever off.
