Weird Harddrive Error

#1 Post by rosemarycane » Wed Sep 13, 2006 3:43 pm

I was using PC Doctor today to check my T60. When I checked my external backup drive, I got this error:

"Error Obtaining Drive Geometry"

It is a Maxtor One Touch III Mini Edition.

Don't know if this is normal, or should I RMA the drive.

Thanks,

Sean

Try first using Maxtor's utility to check the drive

Here is a thread I ran across awhile back. Maybe it will shed some light on the topic: Hard disk geometry thread
