Video card options on the upcoming Widescreen T

#1 Post by SuperNova+ » Thu Sep 14, 2006 9:40 pm

Is it possible that there will be better video card options along with the widescreen T series?

I was planning to buy a widescreen Z, but it does not offer an impressive video card option besides the Firegl5200 on the Z61P, which costs way too much. If there will be better video cards options other than the X1400 on the widescreen T, then it will worth my waiting.

If they just upgrade the CPU to Core2Duo on T60 and change it to Widescreen, would not it be the same thing as the Z61M?
Any insiders know about this? Your answers will be appreciated!!

They will just be slightly updated versions of the current chipsets (nothing much changing from a performance standpoint I don't think), if you want a powerful graphics option then you will need to spring for one of the firegl models which won't come cheap

Is there any internet source where do u get these information from?
It would be nice to see more graphic card options in both Z and T series, if there are no changes in the widescreen T series, I will probably give up my waiting and stick with the Z61M.

Fraid my sources aren't on the internet but I am right, I don't know why people always want me to back up that i'm not lying.

Not sure what other options you want - the current T and Z cover the spectrum of low end (intel integrated) to high end (fire gl), don't be expecting nvidia graphics anytime soon. From what I can tell, the firegl chip will not be an option on the widescreen Ts initially so you might be best opting for the Z61m, what you will be holding out for with the T is simply a more T-like ThinkPad, the Z61m will be more feature rich for the moment, with the exception of MIMO.
