compatibility with logitech mice
Recently got a logitech vx revolution wireless rf mouse for my thinkpad t60 2623d7u and am having problems with it not working. I tested the mouse on other desktops and laptops and it works fine as a plug and play without installing the software (setpoint 3.0.1). The USB and ps/2 ports recognize the usb receiver as "other devices" in device manager however in the mice section it is still IBM thinkpad ultranav pointing device. When I go to update drivers on the pointing device it switches to the ps/2 compatible logitech mouse but still doesn't function. My touchpad and trackpoint are both set to automatic so they should disable once the usb is plugged in. Any suggestions or is there already a known compatibility issue with this mouse?
Re: compatibility with logitech mice
why don't you install the setpoint driver for the vx revolution? I have my vx working perfectly with my t60p with no issues. even without installing the driver plug n play worked flawlessly. just try to install the driver and see what happens. ASFAIK there's no incompatibility issues with this mouse, vx rocks!nunnya wrote:Recently got a logitech vx revolution wireless rf mouse for my thinkpad t60 2623d7u and am having problems with it not working. When I install setpoint it doesn't work and says it detected a touchpad and to preserve the features they will not install everything and if I want to have the added mouse features I need to plug in the USB receiver. Also when I do connect utility it says "Please connect your logitech cordless mouse mini receiver in a USB port and restart this program" however it is already plugged into the USB.
I got that same message as well, with a V270.... And "setpoint" kept trying to re-install every time I booted...nunnya wrote:When I install setpoint it doesn't work and says it detected a touchpad and to preserve the features they will not install everything and if I want to have the added mouse features I need to plug in the USB receiver. So I uninstalled the setpoint driver --and the mouse works fine by just adding it as a bluetooth device....

Nunnya,
did this problem ever get resolved? Im having the exact same problem and can't figure out how to fix it. It did initially work, but subsequently, the same messages as you have described. Its frustrating!

now no longer works
Well,
Mine's a more complicated story- similar to Nunnya's. Mine worked when I first pugged it in. Then, I sent my laptop off to colorware for colorization. When it returned, my mouse no longer worked. The port itself works but none of the ports recognize the wireless dongle.. Apparently the solution is to re-install the system.. Maybe I'll wait for the Vista upgrade..

end of story
Well, for the sake of completion-- I went into the thinkvantageproductivity center and chose to "rejuvenate my system" from a previous backup. After this, the mouse is working fine... touch wood. Thanks, though for your various inputs.
