Been using my T6op for some time now... never noticed it b4 but there is a dead pixel in the almost center of my screen. I read awhile back that there were video cures for this sort of thing, and i am looking for a little input... thankyou

Do a forum/google search. I know there are programs listed that *sometimes* fix the problem.

The "cure" you are looking for *does not* fix dead pixels. Only stuck pixles. It stress the transistors of stuck pixels to unstick them from a certain color (it can also stick pixels for you if you aren't careful with it); it has to be looped over a long period of time, sometimes overnight, to get rid of really tenacious stuck pixels.
What color is the pixel in question? Dead pixels are usually either Black/White or Bright Red, Green, or Blue. Stuck pixels are usually not that intense in coloration and can arise over time and fade away.

The PSP video tester loop is a good place to start.

You may want to try this program ("Undead Pixel"):

Worked for me.

Did you use the Defibrillateur de pixels option to place a squared big
pixel on the areas of the LCD with a stuck pixel?
My T42p have 2
stuck pixels, one is red and the other one is blue. The laptop is practically new. Would the software fix it, and how much time would it take to know if it'll work (leaving the software do its thing)?

A few weeks ago I used
Jscreenfix to fix a stuck pixel. It did the job after running one hour.

I let JScreenFix run for about 7 hours, and only one red pixel went away. There's still another blue stuck pixel, I hope to remove it soon!
Thanks for the link

let's run it for 24hrs, and observe the results.

I'm writing this on my desktop machine, I'm waiting till tomorrow for the software to complete 24hr
endurance and hopefully that blue pixel is gone.
Also, when I look at a certain angle the screen, in the upper right side, there are some kind of
marks, like light leakage ? in a portion of the screen there is sort of vertical lines with more illumination, is kinda off of explaining, how's that called and is it normal or fixable?

you could give
http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/rgb.php a try, if it doesn't cause you to go into convultions...

I did let the preogram JSCreenFix run for more than 24 hrs, but there's still the blue pixel. I'll try the second link to see if it works.

Is it a white pixel?
If you creep up on it very slowly does your mouse pointer grow a miniature scroll bar?
I thought that I had pixel problems until I realized that it only happens when I'm using the scrolling features of my TrackPad.
Whenever I saw it on the screen I would look at what apps were running via Task Mgr and there was always one there called Syn Visual Window. It turned out to be the scrolling TrackPad "pointer" getting hung out on the desktop when used in conjunction with a USB mouse. You can see and trap it with Task Manager Applications and then look for it as a white "stuck" pixel on your dark desktop.
I hope that this is all that you're seeing as well.

I read that thread. To me, those 2 pixels are stuck is not a software issue, because when I power on the laptop, when the IBM splash screen shows I can see those pixels there (stuck) that's why I think It may have nothing to do with the Ultranav driver

I always get stuck pixels on my T60. I either have to press on the screen or do the rgb thing and it comes back.

You use RGB:
http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/rgb.php or which software/webpage. It annoys me the stuck pixels when watching a movie. I'm thinking of getting a T60WS, not yet available in my country and too pricey too in comparison to Lenovo US.

I agree with your conclusion if they're present at startup. The OP didn't indicate that, however, so I though that I'd pass on the thread link for the Synaptics pixel issue.
Good luck with your issue and keep us all posted on the cure.

Apparently I managed to get rid of the 2 stuck pixels: With a cloth I first pressed my nail against the LCD where the stuck pixel was located, waited around 15 sec, and one pixel was gone!!
The other remaining pixel didn't want to dissapear, so I shutted down the laptop, applied again pressure using the cloth and my fingernail, then while pressing against the LCD I powered on the laptop, at first it dissapeared, but then I saw that the pixel wanted to reapear again (sort of flashing) but after rubbing the LCD with the cloth now both pixels are gone.
I hope this last quite some time, and pray that the next time I power ON the laptop those annoying pixels are back.
Dead Pixel

Dead Pixels can NOt be fixed. The only thing you can do to make it less obveous is to use a light background, which will make it less obveous..............
Many displays come through new with one or more dead pixels........... I don't know about IBM / Lenovo, but most other Computer companies post in the buyer aggrement that 3 dead pixels are NOT considered a defect, even when the laptop is purchased as new and they won't replace the unit..........
This to me is bad business, but that's the way it is.
Kindest regards, Steve

My former 2 stuck pixels has not appeared by now. I hope my advice serves well many people owning T4x/T60 series in which this problem is very common

@Truthfinder: You're right, dead pixels (which are black all the time) can't be fixed. Stuck pixels however (which can be blue, green, red, switching between black and white,...) can often be fixed by running one of the previously called programs.
Depending on the resolution, the amount of dead pixels for calling an LCD defect can be found
here.

JScreenfix fixed a stuck pixel (blue) on my brand new Z61p. The stuck pixel appeared after about 20 hours of work on the machine.
A search on Wikipedia and this forum both pointed to eg. Jscreenfix and after 2-3 hours of running this great free tool the pixel wasn't stuck anymore.

I bought my T40 only a few weeks ago on ebay. It had to BLUE stuck pixels. It was driving me crazy. So, I bought a NEW LCD and installed it tonight. Now instead of two blue pixels I have a new LCD with a RED pixel and a dark blue pixel!

I was also bothered because I had one red and another blue pixel stuck at the center of my T42p screen (newly bought)
The solution: Locate and memorize the locations where the stuck pixels are. Then power down your laptop. Using a piece of cloth, press against the LC on the 1st location of a stuck pixel whilst powering on the laptop: keep the pressure on the LC for about 20-30 seconds. Release pressure and see if the stuck pixel is gone, if not rub the LCD with the cloth up/down until it dissapears. Repeat the procedure as needed until the pixel is gone (I have done this procedure after frustratingly I let running JScreenFix for about 2 days but the software did not ressucitate those pixels, I did the cloth trick on both my stuck pixels and worked like a charm)
Notice that sometime later (5-15 days or so) the pixel will appear again but use the
up/down technique with the cloth and the pixel will dissapear again.
Good luck
