I bought a new T60 last month and till a couple of weeks back, it used to hibernate properly. Then I started getting the "Insufficient System Resources Exist to Complete the API" error message when it tried to hibernate.

I checked the forum for information on this and I installed the microsoft patch KB909095 (from here) as detailed in one of the posts and still my system does not hibernate. Anyone else facing the same problem? Any known solutions for this?

try this...
shutdown the hibernation function, install a good defrager (e.g. PerfectDisk and not MS) ... defrage the harddrive, and then immediately restart the hibernation feature ...

one of the main reasons for the hibernation problem is that the HD is fragmented ... and XP can deal with this only when the RAM memory is small... once you have over 1G ... XP has a hard time if the hibernation find is fragmented ...

this fails you can also delete the hibernation file... explore, file options, view unhide protected files ... go to C: drive and find hibernation file ... delete ... defrag ... and start again ...

it worked for me ... no problems since

good luck
