Did you check if your microphone is muted? The mic is pretty close to the speakers so you could have what is called feedback.

how can we check whether its muted ? coz ...when i insert handheld headset microphone to system..that sound disappears.. so i think ..the problem is , something related to what you said.

In the volume tab..if i mute the microphone ..then that sound doesn't appear... so..how can we correct this ..if i want the microphone to be un-muted and still don't want to hear that noise?

thanks,

The way I see it, you have the following options.

1. Mute or lower the volume setting on the microphone.
2. Mute or lower the volume setting on the speakers.
3. Plug a dummy plug into the microphone jack.
4. Block the holes of the built-in microphone with some tape or something.
5. Plug in an external mike with an on/off switch, and turn the switch off.
6. Plug in an external mike and move it some distance from the speakers.

Is it the ticking and buzz from the Infrared Port transmissions?

Try disabling the Infrared function in your hardware profile and see if that's the source of the noise.
