Keyboard partly malfunctions sometimes.

sometimes, without any warning (atleast I noticed none) my keyboard partly malfunctions, the letters
n comma h j y u 6 7
don't work anymore.

And then after a while (sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes an hour) it works again.

The keys don't react at all.
And it's not some num lock that's still on or something.

Does anyone know what causes this and what to do with this very annoying problem?
tnx in advance

I would try a couple things:

1. Follow the directions to remove the keyboard and reseat the keyboard cable connectors. http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-62800

2. Try booting into safe mode (after starting your computer, and after the BIOS message, press F6 just as Windows starts). If the problem doesn't happen in Safe Mode, then this may be a software issue.

Welcome to the Thinkpad Forums. :)

Do you also have the latest BIOS and do you have anything, such as another keyboard, plugged into your T60 when this happens?

First check those, then do as Ron instructs. :D

Thanks alot for the help i got.
I'll keep visiting this site.

I've opened up my thinkpad and reonnected the keyboard as intructed on the lenove site, and since then I haven't had any more problems.
Ofcourse it's only been one day, so it could still start malfunctioning again, but lest hope it doesn't.
