T60 2623-D3U, Vista RC1 - Problems With Internal EVDO Driver

Just joined thinkpads.com, did some searching but can't seem to find a solution. I've got every driver going with the exception of the internal Sierra Wireless EVDO adapter.

I was able to download the standard adapter's drivers, and perform a manual 'msiexec /a' to extract everything to a folder. I then followed a process that allowed me to get all the ports and pieces of the adapter loaded.

The actual device is loaded but gets a yellow flag. 'The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 2 8 )

Sometimes it says:
Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 3 7)

I don't know of any BETA drivers for the integrated cards, but if anyone can give me some help, I'd appreciate it.

I'm downloading RC2 now, but I don't think I've heard of it fixing this issue.

Thanks in advance.

I don't have EV-DO, so this is just a guess. This method has worked for me and some others when installing XP drivers. Go to the following page and download the driver.
Verizon Wireless WAN adapter software for Windows 2000, XP - ThinkPad R60, T60, T60p, X60, X60s, Z60m, Z60t, Z61e, Z61m, Z61p, Z61t

Double-click on the file to extract it's contents. The files should be extracted to: C:\Drivers\WIN\WWANSR\Driver\. Go to Device Manager and double-click on the driver with the problem. Choose the Driver tab, then choose to Update driver. Point to the directory above. I got the tip from Virgi44 in the following thread. http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=30035

I think Sierra Wireless will have a 3G Watcher program for the EV-DO cards soon. They have one for the HSDPA cards now.

Unfortunatley that's what I did to get the driver installed this far. I read it in this thread:

http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/Sho ... &SiteID=17

I'm going to post there, as well as contact Sierra to see if they have anything new.

According to that post I can still create a connection even with th error, but I've not had any luck as of yet. I'm going to upgrade to RC2 this evening to see if that helps at all.[/url]

While the modem is still showing the error code, I did actually get it working by following this thread's instructions:
