I was suddenly unable to connect to Verizon and there is one piece of software not already on the hard drives and that is the WWAN drivers. Thus, if you are not near any other network, without this software you are stuck.

Download this software and let it unpack into your c:\drivers\win\wwlan ...etc. folders

If you do have connection problems, uninstall VZAccess manager and reinstall this downloaded program. Fixed a problem where I had good signal but unable to connect.

It is an updated version from 4/18 so if you might check to see if you have the latest version and install it anyway. I'm suddenly able to get networking speeds I've never had before.

I've been on the service for about 4 months with my T60 and I was actually starting to get issues connecting with the VZ dialer. I was getting a lot of errors with the dialer software and crashing. I reloaded and it was fine for a while, and then bad again.

Switching to Access Connections really helped me out a lot. I don't know why I never used it in the past. It consistantly holds the Verizon connection stronger, and my Wifi AP's a lot more steady. (Even when Bitorrent is uploading constantly)

Of course now I'm on Vista RC2, so I'm stuck using Windows to manage the internal EVDO.

JoeStalin - how did you install the Verizon drivers under RC2?

Definitely how did you do this under Vista? And can you get Access Connections working?

I was able to get it to load the drivers under Vista by telling it to look in C:\ and search subdirectories. It found the drivers I had previously installed under Windows XP and loaded fine. I was able to create a dial up connection using #777 as the phone number and everything just worked.

Not as clean as either the Verizon software or Access Connections but functional nonetheless.
