T60 media setbacks

Hi,

I need some professional help from those who are expert in tweaking the microsoft windows player. I have installed windows player 11 beta version and now i want to use real player to play my movies, but that don't work at all. It keeps showing me error messages: real player needs extra software to run this movie. But i tried installing the latest software for realplayer but i still cannot play the movie. Is there anything to do with software clash with the new windows media player?

I tried to ask this in another forum and i get a response that when i download windows 11 beta version, i should choose custom download and select my preferences from there... Is this true? I don't believe that member because he is blacklisted...

in my opinion you should not use either Media Player, Real Player and Quicktime, I hate those apllications for their ignorance and for them forcing you to use their software.

What I do use instead is the follwing:

- Media Player classic. Which is like the old media player, but has a lot more features, I never had any problems with this software.
- Real Alternative. With this codec you can play realaudio en realmedia files withtin Media Player classic, no need for extra software.
- Quicktime alternative. Also a codec that lets you play quicktime files in Media player classic, no need to install the [censored] quicktime program.
- K-lite codec pack. Lets you play allmost anything, also includes Media Player Classic.

I know this doesnt solve you're problem. But I've stopped using Windows Media player a long time ago, cuz it always gave me headaches. Perhaps you should check it out.

Media Player classic is indeed the best solution.
Another alternative is VLC

Both WMP and Real or Quicktime are the best examples of useless bloatware.

I have VLC player in my computer for quite sometime. I know it can cancel all the region code from DVDs and do some wonderful stuffs. Should i uninstall windows player beta version and real player?

I have never heard of it being able to cancel/ignore region coding. There is AnyDVD for that.

No, vlc can bypass all the DVD region coding and i used to post about this vlc region coding thingy and it got deleted within 5 minutes.

My school computers cannot run DVDs movies because the admins did not install any DVD features in the computers and we used VLC to run all the DVDs and that's how things work and my T60 is set to region 3 but with VLC player, it can play region 1 movies.

Now, i have uninstalled my Windows media player. So i guess things should be okay now...
